Freshly squeezed cyberspace.

Online face morphing.

Posted by indigohjones on April 28, 2007

Two links for you today. First up, we’ve got The St. Andrews University Face Transformer , a nifty Java app that will let you upload any face you want from your computer and then morphs its physiology, shifting its age, gender and even ethnicity.

Here’s a feminised Brad Pitt, for example.

Before.After.

The program is easy to use, and quick. Here’s a full list of the morphs available – baby, child, teenage, young adult, older adult, Afro-Carribean, Caucasian, East Asian, West Asian, Feminisation; then we have three art-style morphs, changing faces into the portrait styles of Modigliani, Botticelli and El Greco. You can also see your face in the style of a Manga Cartoon, an Apeman, or even drunk.

The great strength of this program is the attention it takes to detail. Look at the shimmer given to Brad’s eyes; the thinning of the eyebrows; the rouging of his lips.

Secondly, here’s Symface for you. It works similarly to the Transformer. You upload a photo, choose the centre-line of the face, and it’ll show you what the face would look like if it was absolutely symmetrical. Here’s Brad to show you what I mean.

 Happy morphing, everybody.
