The right place at the right time.

On the 29th of April, this year, a flight climbing out of Manchester airport encountered a birdstrike. A planespotter called Simon Lowe wascasually videoing as this happened, and tracked the plane as it circled the airport and came in safely to land. What makes the video especially interesting is the overdub of the communication between the plane and control tower.

Here are some freeware add-on scenery files which will add a more realistic Lukla Airport and area around Everest to your flight sim experience. All files are hosted at www.avsim.net. You will need to register to download content from the site, but it’s free, painless, and you get life-long access to their add-ons, which run from scenery files to airplanes.
